Street Star Buskers Competition Conditions of Entry |
- Competition entries open 9 am Thursday1st July 2010 and close 4 pm Wednesday 18th August 2010.
- Entries can be made on line at www.cairnsstreetbuskersfestival.com
- Once your entry has received your approval via email you can then complete the rest of the process.
- $10.00 per competition entry. Cash only folks - it is a busker's competition after all. Entry fees can be paid at the Cairns Regional Council Esplanade Office, located at 52-54 The Esplanade (between Fogarty Park and the Lagoon) Monday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm.
- Entrants will be required to complete and submit a Cairns Regional Council busking application form at Cairns Regional Council Esplanade Office located at 52-54 The Esplanade (between Fogarty Park and the Lagoon) Monday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm at no extra cost to receive their busking permit, badge and competition packs.
- If entrants are under 18 years old, parents and/or guardians must give approval by signing their busking permits at the Cairns Regional Council Esplanade Office located at 52-54 The Esplanade (between Fogarty Park and the Lagoon) Monday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm. This will need to take place at the same time the payment, permits and busking badge is being processed.
- Entrants will need to display their badge at all times when performing in the competition.
- Entrants must adhere to all directions from the Event Manager and Council Staff during the competition and whilst performing
- All entrants must be available to perform between 5 and 6 pm at allocated and managed areas in the CBD on Saturday 21st August 2010 prior to the Cairns Festival Parade.
- To receive any of the winning prizes, entrants must be available to compete at the Grand Final on Sunday 5th September 2010 at Carnival on Collins.
- Entrants are encouraged to promote the Buskers Festival and the Street Star Competition to their audiences.
- The Event Manager has the right to disqualify and remove any entrant from the competition if the any of these terms and conditions are not adhered to.
- Upon entering this competition you assign Festivals UP North, Ergon Energy and Cairns Regional Council the right to record and utilise your participation and appearance on video, audio, film and photograph or any other medium for the purpose of marketing, promotion and advertising of the competition, the festival and the above named organisations.
- * Buskers can perform anywhere within the CBD, as long as they maintain a minimum of 15m from any outdoor dining area and are not (nor their audience) interfering with pedestrian flow, CBD operators from normal business operation, entries and exit ways, public amenities or loading areas.
- ** Buskers can perform from 8am through to Midnight for a maximum of 1 hour at any single location. After an hour you must relocate at least 50m away.
- *** Buskers may use battery powered amplification through until 10pm, as long as this does not cause a nuisance to surrounding businesses.
- Entrants must not use performance times as a platform for political statements
- Entrants must not use offensive language or wear offencive clothing during performances times.
- Entrants are to perform in a safe considerate manner ensuring their performance is of no risk to audience or themselves.
- Entrants agree that they are entering this competition at their own risk.
- Entrants must adhere to OHS standards, including but not limited to, sun protection and staying hydrated.
