Acro clown combines traditional and contemporary circus tricks with heart-felt humour to endear his audience and make you want to take him home to meet your mum.


He is a great all round street act with exceptional acrobatic balance and strength skills.  Watch the audience's jaws drop during his act and the kids just love him.  You will want to watch this show time and time again.

 
Darian Le Page - AUST

Darian-CBF-WEB-2Darian started his street theatre career not that unlike many others - with a dare, and since then has taken his act to many cities around the world.  Darian Le Page is the staple diet of any street festival; a comic roaming character that puts a modern twist to the age old tradition of silent mime.  You have to be quick to catch his John Travolta moves.

Darian will be holding physical theatre workshops during the buskers festival. Perfect for emerging performers, youth artists, dancers, sports enthusiasts and anyone who wants better control and command of their bits. Spaces are limited so to click here to register now.

Kiki and Pascal - UK

kiki-and-Pascal-CBF-Web-2These not so refined magicians bring their world tour show of ABRAKASTABYA to Cairns.  No one is really sure what that means but we dieing to find out.

Slapstick comedy at its best as this odd pair fall in and out of love many times during the show. Each of these characters have a mind of their own and ANYTHING can happen on stage with their death defying stunts and box of tricks.

 
Nick Nickolas - UK

Nick has performed in more countries that he can count on his magic wand, told more jokes than the joker himself, and is one of the best sleight of hand magicians you will ever see.  You will come to his shows time and time again just to try and work out how the bloody hell he does it.

A great act and a joy to watch.

 
Shirlee Sunflower - UK

Shirlee returns to Cairns on her 2nd mission of love.  Shirlee is now in her cougar years and brings a new show, a new outlook, a new outfit and a new bag of tricks on her quest to finally find love and get some - well you know - sunflower seeds.

A great physical comedy act for all the family to enjoy, but word of warning to the ladies, hold you men close.

 

 
Ulla Taylor - AUST

Ulla-Taylor-CBF-WEB-1Ulla Taylor has been artistically inclined since age 3 when she was first caught drawing smiley faces on the walls of her family home. Since then she has enlivened pavements and city streets from Canada to Singapore with her original pavement art.

Apart from creating a special 3D pavement piece exclusively for the Cairns Buskers Festival, Ulla will be holding 3 pavement art workshops.

The first two workshops offer techniques and development activities and one-on-one time with Ulla  to create a pavement art piece of your own that will be displayed along the Esplanade. Click here for more details and to register.

Body Illusions - NZ & AUST

Working with the theme of LEAVE YOUR HAT ON, these artists will bring the body canvas to life and create masterpieces on and in the flesh. Watch people's reactions as these roving art works parade around the CBD. You too can also don a hat, then choose your theme, team or dream that you wish to be and they will paint you up to a tee. Get a whole new look by the best body artists in town, and then enjoy all the attention you will get along the Buskers Boulevard of Cairns.

 
Grass Roots Collective - PNG

PNG-singer-webThe Papua New Guinea Performance group will have you spellbound with their dance, song, energy,  and body art: all senses are satisfied in this one performance.

 Experience traditional and contemporary body art applications, learn the dances, listen to the stories and song, immerse yourself in an ancient culture on such an apt and festive weekend- PNG Independence Weekend. This group of talented artists will be performing at Tropical Wave Festival on Saturday 17 and at the Esplanade Buskers Pitch on Sunday 18 September, make sure you circle this one on your program.

 
Michael the Living Poet - AUST

Michael wrote his first poem the night Steve Irwin died, and ever since has had been on an amazing journey. From street corners to festivals, has accumulated a string of accolades: winner of Melbourne Best Busker 08, Kakadu award Tamworth 08, and ran buskers workshops at Woodford Folk Festival 2009.

Michael recently appeared on the ABC New Inventors with his new slide pedal didgeridoo. The same one he will be bringing to Cairns, along with his inspiring music, poetry and storytelling. This man can change the colour of your day if you give him the time. If you dont want the change, just put it in his hat and say thank you.

 
Ross Vegas - AUST

Constantly torn between the quest for excellence in physical spectacle, and his love for words and ideas, Ross’ muse has led him across genres and borders, from cult hero to rapper to acrobat, comedian, but remains one of the most fresh and brilliant talents seen in a while.

 
The Great Dave - UK

Great-Dave--CBF-web-1In the tradition of a much loved British custom, The Great Dave performs amazing feets with fine china tea cups, saucers and silver spoons, but not so traditionally, he does it on an extraordinarily high unicycle. 

A world class performer and first time to Cairns, he is definitely not your typical pom.

 
Victor Rubilar - Argentina

Victor_Rubilar_01-webFresh of the US summer festival circuit, Victor Rubilar combines his love and skill of football with urban street performance in his high impact show.

Victor holds a swag of Guiness Book of Records for all sorts of things to do with balls.  You will have to see it to believe what he can do and he will have you coming back for more.  All the atmosphere and energy of a world cup soccer match in this unique up-beat street show.
